Urs Rutishauser – Violin
CMSSU founder and director – violinist
Urs has studied with Vera Barstow, Pasadena; Richard Burgin, Boston; and currently with Eriko Sato, New York. A scientist by profession, he is an avid life-long amateur chamber music player, he has received ensemble instruction at The Music Academy of the West with Gabor Rejto and Emanuel Bay, Brown University with Martin Fischer, Cleveland Institute of Music Chamberfests with the Cavani String Quartet, and the Chamber Music Conference of the East at Bennington (10 years). He is currently part of a quartet and piano quartet in NYC, member of the recently formed NY Chamber Music Club, and member of the CMSSU faculty ensemble in St. George. In New York, his ensembles perform regularly at NYU and in house concerts, with coaching provided by Rene Joles and Frank Daykin. (Photo by Claire Stefani)
